Darude’s Sandstorm has been remixed by a Finnish orchestra. The result is epic
Rave music endures for several reasons. The vibes are happy and the venues are iconic. One classic has remained relevant for 19 years. Darude’s Sandstorm is one of the most recognisable dance anthems ever crafted. It has filled floors for millions across the globe.
Classical Trancelations in Concert is now making the track more expansive. They are bringing 150 musicians together. The Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra will participate in a two-hour extravaganza of dance music classics. A few minutes from the 2016 concert provide a preview of the experience.
Let there be house
The event takes place this Saturday 29 September at Helsinki Hartwall Arena. Tickets are available here. Classical Trancelations will be the largest indoor electronic dance music event in Finnish history. The audience will hear anthems by Daft Punk, Moby, Fatboy Slim, Eric Prydz, Faithless, Tiësto, Robert Miles, Guru Josh and Darude.
Soloists include Saara Aalto, Reino Nordin, Kasmir, Paleface and Marianna. They are joined by saxophonists Jukka Perko and Tapani Rinne along with actor Sami Uotila. A light show will accompany the musical ensemble.
Little-known fact that the song was written and published in Finland, and that the official music video features scenes of Helsinki.
